Claim for DLA was created by Elisabeth68
Hello. Looking for some help please. I filled in the form with assistance from a benefit specialist help. The form was completed on the 6th June 2013 and sent to the DLA benefit office via special delivery on the 7th June 2013 and arrived on the Saturday 8th June. The claim is for renewal but as my form went to someone else`s house in error of Royal mail my claim ended the 14/05/2013 and was not able to put my claim in earlier. I received a letter from the DLA office informing me that my claim form with my supporting evidence had been sent to PIP department to be looked at and decision dated the 12th June 2013. I have received a text message from the DWP this afternoon 26 June 2013 at 15:03 saying "Thank you for your DLA claim. It could take up to 8 weeks to make a decision . We will Text you to keep you informed. I am confused now which benefit I will be getting. I have a change in medication as of Monday from Amitriptyline 50mg to Sertraline 50mg and also been given Diazepam 2mg as the change over from one tablet to another has caused quite a bad reaction and has unsettled me and insomnia and panic attacks very frequently again almost out of control that led me to see my GP under emergency appointment. Could someone kindly offer some help and guidance through this claim please. I am in a rather unsettled position at this moment in time with medication change and awaiting a result with this claim. Many thank you in advance if someone could help me please.Thank you

We can talk about whether you are in the trial area , renewal dates, dates for new claims, etc., but the bottom line is that the only way you will know what is happening with your claim is for you to contact the DWP, there should be a telephone number on the letter you received.
Let us know what they say, but at the moment it is all speculation.

This is unsettling, but you must try not to worry yourself too much about this. You have done the best you could given the situation. You've returned the form and they have accepted it. It's going to take some time and if they need any additional information they will ask you.
Just take it easy and if you can enjoy the summer while it's here.
