Gordon,
I did not ask about exemptions from f2f medicals. Just the opposite. I asked whether there are claimant groups that are automatically called for a f2f. I assumed from your previous answer that there are no such groups.
Thanks,
MW

No such group.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi MariW,
This almost exactly mirrors my own situation. I have suffered extensive and chronic neuropathic pain for many years following spinal surgery. The situation is not curable and pain relief is largely ineffective.
I sent my form ESA50 together with reams of documents showing medication/daily problems and written confirmation from my doctor that I was unfit for work of any kind.
3 weeks later a letter arrives summoning me to a F2F which I attended with difficulty and which they cancelled whilst I was in the waiting room !!
A subsequent appointment was made and yet again I arrived at the examination centre to be seen by a doctor who spent most of his time inputting information into the computer.
I had previously sent 9 pages of documentary evidence to show why and how I was eligible to receive the benefit - but to no avail. I was summoned just the same.
I, too have been puzzled by the criteria by which some people are sent for and others just receive written results without the need for a face2face.
The problem for me seems to be that those who provide all the extra information in advance are wasting their time doing do and that come what may you will have to be seen at one of their MEC centres.
Like you - I'm baffled by the process. I now await the results of the DWP decision.
