Her initial award of DLA , with a Carers component was for one year only and today she has just got a huge pack of claim forms to re-apply. She has degenerative osteoporosis and various other aliments that are documented. Amongst her medication is daily morphine. She is getting worse not better!
We of course are going to complete these forms but my question is.... Is she really going to have to go all through the DWP and especially the ATOS treadmill again? or is this more like a simple re-application? Nothing has changed with her condition, if anything it has got worse. I am worried that another round of playing the Atos game is causing her so much stress that she will get even worse. Maybe that is the secret way they are trying to reduce claimants, ie kill them!
Advice please!

When we eventually attended an Atos Medical, we were told, (at the interview), that a medical would now not be required as her medical records were enough. She went from zero score to over 20 without an Atos " medical" in 6 months.

I am afraid that for both ESA and DLA, even though there are existing awards in place any re-assessment will be treated as a new application for the benefit, so the forms should be completed in detail and up to date medical evidence provided wherever possible.
Where conditions are not likely to improve or are going to deteriorate over time, then you need to explain why this is the case, this is especially important where new medical reports are not available.
If you are not aware of when your wife is likely to be re-assessed for ESA you can contact the DWP, they may be able to tell you over the phone.
Please refer to the DLA guides for help on completing the form.
