Re IB to ESA If you tick the it varies box but explain symptoms how will this be scored? with no new supporting evidence .

The first thing to say is that you do not need to be constrained by the tick boxes or the space available for comments. If the tick boxes do not fit your condition do not use them, simply mark the form with "see below", and if you need more space, use additional pages, just remember to add your name, dob, and NIN to each page.

With regard it varies, the first thing is to consider how you are for the majority of the time and then document how your condition varies within it. Giving specific values to you capabilities will help, but be careful to check for consistency. For example; five days a week I can only walk Xm before experiencing significant pain, I cannot walk at a normal pace and it takes me Y minutes to cover this distance.

No, not routinely - although we have heard of a DLA review being triggered if the claimant is found 'fit for work' by the ESA assessment
