I posted my ESA50 plus pages of medical evidence last Friday at 1.35pm. I paid £6.95 for Special Delivery. The guy at the Post Office told me the form was guaranteed to be delivered by Monday (today) at 1pm.

I just tracked it online and it says:

"It's on its way

Your item with reference XXXXXX is currently progressing through our network.

Your item is currently progressing through our network for delivery.

To check your item's progress please come back later."

How is that possible when it's GUARANTEED next day delivery??? My form was already late (by arrangement with DWP). I'm devastated.

I had a similar message twice when I sent something via recorded delivery. On both occasions I contacted Royal Mail and was told that the item had actually been delivered but the website not updated. Is it possible that a similar thing has happened to you?

I would imagine it is due to the postal strike on Saturday.

There is nothing you can do about this until tomorrow, when it is likely to have been delivered. You have a proof of posting which should be enough to cover any problems with it being even later, hopefully it will not be an issue with either ATOS or the DWP.

As an aside, you might want to contact Royal Mail for compensation.

The guy in the Post Office assured me Saturday's postal strike wouldn't affect Special Delivery stuff. But I guess he was wrong. Grrrrr. I'm so annoyed.

Oh well.

At least I've got my receipt.

Maybe it actually has already been delivered. I guess you never know.

They said that on a parcel I posted the day before the previous strike (20/06), and it did not arrive until the day after.
