Hi Guys, Hope you are all as well as can be expected.
Quick question, I have just lost my job over health issues, and due to have an op next week I have had to claim ESA as I cannot currently look for work. I have received a ESA50 which I am happy to fill in but it says about converting my DLA what does that mean?
I only want to claim ESA until I am recovered from my op and can get back to looking for a job.
Will they lump the payments together or will they remain separate?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi S,
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I am rather confused regarding the comment "converting my DLA " pertaining to ESA and The ESA50.
ESA and DLA are totally independent benefits/allowances, with different qualifying criteria.
All current DLA recipients who were not 65 years or older in April this year will be invited to apply for PIP, here is the timetable :
What is the timetable for introducing personal independence payment (PIP)?
DLA is now defunct for new claimants.
Back to ESA,
have you considered :
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire
Whilst referring to the guides under the heading of "New ESA50 form"
On this page :
ESA Claims Guides
See also :
How long do I have to complete the ESA50?
ESA50 too big for the envelope
&
Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
