re assesment was created by legin
I had been put from IB to ESA about last November. I got a form again this morning and it is the same form as before. Do I have to do it all again? Last time, a nurse asked me if I had a GP? I told her I had sent all that information in when asked. She asked me to raise my arm, which I did but it hurts like hell. She was not pleasant at all! She said that she was concerned about the fact I take Diazepam! Didn't mention the 400mg plus of morphine each day!!
I was assessed by a doctor a couple of years ago from the MOD, he was pleasant and very thorough. he told the MOD I was 90 per cent disabled. Yet they don't want to know about this? Do you have any ideas why they don't?

best wishes

Hi l,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

I am afraid that now you are in receipt of ESA, you will have to go through regular re-assessments.

Each ESA award, whether in The WRAG or The SG comes with a recommended period before reassessment, this is known as the prognosis. Although the prognosis is only a recommendation, the DWP do tend to abide by them. A few months before the end of any prognosis, they will re-refer you to ATOS, who will then send out a new ESA50 Questionnaire, and so the cycle begins once more.

So I am afraid that you will have to fill in and return the ESA50 to ATOS by the deadline date given, or your benefits may cease.

Please be aware that the ESA50 has changed recently, our guides reflect theses changes.

See :

How often will I be reviewed

Qualifying for the WRAG

&

Qualifying for the Support Group

From our : ESA FAQ’s

On this occasion, you may wish to consider :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Whilst referring to the guides under the heading of "New ESA50 form"

You should treat this as you would your first assessment, and do not take for granted that the assessing ATOS HCP will have access to any of your previous history.

If you can provide enough supporting evidence this time, there may not be a need for another face to face assessment.

You might want to Bookmark/Favourite this page in your internet browser. That way, you can return to it, to pose any further queries that may crop up.
