What weight is given to a GP factual report by DWPwhen assessing dla claim. My GP completed one about a fortnight ago and rang me to go in and assist him to complete so he was acting in support of me. I showed him my application and competed the health professional form for him. I have everything crossed for a positive outcome and soon as I made my application on 10 May

Hi L,

As the DWP send the GPFR to one's G.P., one should hope that The DLA DM would give quite a lot of weight to it.

Of course, The DM will also take into account all other evidence before them, including the DLA claim form, any evidence that you may have provided, and any medical report that may have been written by The EMP if one has had a DLA "Medical".

The DM is then supposed to make a decision on "The balance of probabilities".

Thanks Bro

I have not had a medical yet, nor been requested to. I have quite a rare spinal tumour so they may write for specialist view. I let them know that surgery is not an option due to risk and that I have been referred to pain clinic; I need to find some patience reserves!
