Have a Medical very shortly now and as was sweltering heard on news the Govt-NHS have announced an exceptional National Situation with the Long Term Sick to take special care.
Though have already used up my one delay option.
Would the heatwave be grounds for not making the medical and letting them know in advance as its gruelling journey time in such conditions?
That would be against The DWP Rule of delay but have you ever heard of anyone succesfully overriding this ie re-arranging two times in exceetional circumstances?
SECONDLY:
The ATOS loss of monopoly-radio said it was because the ATOS medicals were "not detailed enough".
Can you help me understand?
Is this in Claimants favour?
Are ATOS medicals to be relied on and if not then surely everyone would need to be retested?
Tightening up further and if they dont introducing competitors seems to be the aim not fairness to DLA claimants who look likely to have to provide even more more and more micro details evidence, longer interviewer times with sharper interviewers?
Maybe I be better to get it over with ASAP as it just looks more difficult in future?
But have no idea where I stand now with this weeks'Medical with a "not up to par"interviewer?

I am afraid I have no idea whether the current weather would be accepted as Good Cause for missing an ATOS appointment, you would likely only find out by doing so and as you have already used up your one "strike", you run the risk of having your claim closed if it is not accepted.

With regard the ATOS announcement, personally I would not read too much into it in the short term. It specifically states that there was no concern over the recommendations being given, it is the detail of the reports that was a problem, further, it is not all reports, the sample was only 400. Apart from some additional auditing and the possibility that individual assessors may require further training or may even lose their right to carry out assessments, nothing is happening before 2014.
