I originally filled in an ESA50 back in July 2011 for my 21 year old son who has severe learning difficulties, I sent the form back to ATOS with the medical evidence, and as a result he was put straight in the support group. We’ve now been sent another ESA50 for a review. His condition hasn’t changed and I cannot improve on the answers I put down 2 years ago, as they were quite exhaustive and comprehensive, so I’m basically copying and pasting my original answers, Is this OK… will this be frowned upon?

If you can’t improve on something why change it and perhaps they don’t even compare previous forms, then again so what if they do, you can only put down about the illness or condition and how it affects people one way.

Hi Steve,

You are right in thinking that ATOS/DWP do not usually refer to previous claim forms. Every reassessment should be treated as if it were a first time claim, do not assume that DWP know anything!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
