DLA - good news for a change

Hi all

Thought I'd share some good news for a change. After applying for DLA for my 11 year old daughter for the second time it has been awarded. I sent the form back right before the deadline. I had a text to say they'd received it on 17.7.13. So expecting a wait of at least 8 weeks you can imagine my amazement when I woke up on 25.7.13 (9 days later) to a text message saying she's been awarded DLA. I think last night I was still in shock because I couldn't sleep. She's been awarded HRC and LRM the only thing that does make me mad is that neither my husband nor I can claim Carer's cos I receive IB and my hubby is on contribution ESA. Yet they say that all these people don't claim Carer's......never occurs to them that people who are sick still have to care for other's who have disabilities.

Gosh, that was quick! DWP really seem to be making DLA decisions very quickly at the moment. I am glad that your daughter got the right decision, thank you for letting us know
