ESA success – getting paperwork from DWP

A couple of years ago the process of my transfer from IS to ESA began. I was refused ESA, appealed, lost but won following a tribunal and I was placed in WRAG.

A few months ago I received my ESA50 completed it, had my WCA and once again, placed in WRAG. I had my first work-focussed interview last week.

I was curious to see the paperwork involved in making the decision so I sent off a Subject Access Request requesting all the paperwork. All that I have received is a copy of the ESA85 medical report form and ESA85 decision makers score sheet – both of which make for interesting reading!! Is that all that is involved in making a decision or should there be more forms or paperwork that I should request? I'm not planning on appealing the decision but I am interested to see what was written in case the information proves useful in the future.

My success at being awarded ESA is all down to the guides available on this website so a very big thank you to Benefits and Work for providing such an invaluable service.

Hi H,

I am pleased to hear of your ESA award, thanks for the complimentary comments regarding B&W.

It is hard to know exactly which ESA documentation is generated in making a decision.

There may be an ESA113 Questionnaire, if one was sent to your G.P., you could check that out by contacting your G.P. reception.

There should also be an LT54 Form.

Have a look at this list of ESA Forms that are potentially used :
