A waste of tax payers money

I have Osteoarthritis in my spine and most other joints and won a DLA appeal a while back. On !7th June 2012 I sent off my assessment form be transferred from IB to ESA along with a report which I had paid for from my GP as Medical Evidence. I thought that was best as I had been discharged by my specialist because there is no more active treatment they can provide.

I rang Atos today to see where they were with my claim and was told they had sent out to my GP for further medical info, I rang my GP today to advise him of this and he told me he had received and already returned the form ! He said it was a simple form with about seven questions and simple tick boxes for the answers with very little space to write in detail. I am amazed Atos have paid over £30 for my GP to complete this form when all the questions on it had already been covered in the GP report I sent to them along with the claim.

Sorry I dont have a question but just wanted to say I have now given up all hopes of being transferred to ESA because whatever you do and whatever you supply I just feel they will do all they can to get out of paying the allowance, including wasting tax payers money on the way. I just cant cope with the stress of this system any longer.

Can I assume that 17 June 2012 is a typo, and it should read 17 June 2013 ?

ATOS generally only send an : ESA 113 Questionnaire to a claimant's G.P. were they feel that there may be a high level of disability, and they are considering an award of SG, so it may be a positive.

If it was only the 17/06/13, it is early days yet, so please don't get too despondent.

2.2.1

Background

Most information requests regarding Incapacity Benefit (IB) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) claims will be on the ESA113.

We ask you to complete this form if we think that the patient may have a severe health condition or disability but do not have enough information to be sure.

The forms should be returned within 5 working days from the date of receipt."

Yes sorry it should have said 2013. Thanks for the encouragement its just that the dreaded tick box form can be so deceptive, il try to stay positive.

Is this Esa 113 questionaire only sent to a GP, or could it be sent to a physiotherapist or other treating HCP that was last to assess you
