Hi Jim,
Firstly many thanks for the advice - Iv'e had plenty of Occ. Health etc appointments but no warnings so that's beneficial to know.
You're quite right that people should show common courtesy to advice given. I read your post when the forum was 'offline' to replies and wanted to write and thank you reply, as opposed to just clicking the thank you button which I believe you can do at any time.
The next time I visited the forum was yesterday when I read your subsequent reply but obviously couldn't reply then either!
So again thank you for the advice and will spend some time looking over the link in your email.
Cheers

I never received any warnings either, as such, written or otherwise! Nonetheless, the union rep (backed up by the legal team) was convinced that everything had been done correctly.

Eek, well I hope it all worked out for the best / will work out for the best for you.
Thats slightly concerning but have done a lot of soul searching and I think a gentler pace of life, less commuting and a move to be closer to family, countryside is needed and so whether that's forced upon mel or is done when I am ready I reckon it'll be for the best.
Thanks chaps

I am now retired and being paid an occupational pension (which, of course, reduces the amount of ESA I am paid). Life is easier now and I keep my brain active on this site. I hope that things work out well for you.

Please remember to have a good retirement ill health pension from work organised first b4 accepting the Occupational Health Dr's view and get it sanctioned properly.
Unfortunately I did not take this most important advice before retiring due to ill health from the local govt.
It was agreed via personnel dept./ jobcentre plus disability unit etc that as the local govt were going thru a financial crisis back in 1997, that I would be better off financially and physically to only have Incapacity Benefit ( til I met state pension time) and DLA care/mobility components on a life/indefinite award.
I took this advice as being good at the time, and in fact it probably was good advice back then, however with the benefit changes and now being caught in the age gap from aged 60 now to 66 for state pension, the advice given is now pretty darn useless.
