Your new item, "catch 22" says that from Oct 28 no payment will be made at the first stage of an ESA appeal (mandatory reconsideration by DWP). Previous forum items stated that this would only be the case where ESA claims come under the umbrella of Universal Credit.

Which of these is true??
Yes I saw it yesterday.
The DWP have always said that they were going to implement Mandatory Considerations in October, what we have been saying is that to date, the only legislation that has been put into law that enables this is for ESA claims under UC, as far as I am aware this is still the case.
However, there is still plenty of time for the Government to alter he existing ESA legislation to require Mandatory Reconsiderations, so it is a case of watch this space.
