Hi Milo,
Is this a new claim, or were you transferred from IB?
If this is a new claim then the first £85 per week will be disregarded, then you will lose 50p ESA for every extra £1 pension.
If you were migrated from IB and your pension was disregarded then it will also be disregarded for ESA.
Please note - this applies only if you are getting Contributary ESA. If you are on Income-Related ESA then all of your pension will be taken into account.
Will my pension be disregarded under ESA? If you wish to find out when to expect reassessment, you can phone DWP and ask for the 'prognosis' which should be on the computer screen. Or you can write and ask for a copy of the paperwork associated with your claim.
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?
