June amendments to the DWP A to Z of conditions

I'm sure many of us have read these pages in the past: www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-g...-medical-conditions/

I've just checked the individual pages for over a dozen different conditions and each one says "Amended June 2013" at the bottom. Does anybody know what the amendments are? Someone on another forum is saying that the pages for CFS and certain other neurological conditions used to say that a doctor was mandated to conduct the WCA, and that the DWP rule about doctors doing such assessments has just been scrapped, and that any HCP can now do them.

Is this true? I find it hard to believe. I've visited the A to Z many times and never noticed it. I would have thought that if the A to Z had ever addressed the question of assessments by doctors there would be lots of mentions of it on the internet. But I've searched high and low and found nothing.

I am not aware of what the changes are, as it is a web document it is impossible, or nearly, to track changes in it unless you are the author.

Also, as far as I am aware this information has never been used in regard to what level of HCP is required to perform an ESA assessment for any given condition, this seems to be down to a couple of lists included in the contract between ATOS and the DWP, that were revealed by a Freedom of Information request some time ago, it is worth saying the ATOS regularly ignore the list so there seems to be no contractual requirement for them to honour it.

Thanks Gordon. Are these the lists you're referring to? I've copied them from this blog page: kittysjones.wordpress.com/2013/04/18/wha...ut-atos-assessments/ I have asked the blogger for her source and am waiting for a reply. I have also emailed ATOS customer services asking them to confirm the second list. I'm not expecting a useful reply!

It is impossible for moderators to give advice on individual conditions that are listed in the A-Z of medical conditions, since the DWP do not inform us of any changes.

I really don't think we can add any further advice to that that has been given by moderators, especially Gordon.

I suggest that this thread is locked, but I'll leave the final decision to Gordon.

The current A-Z of medical conditions on the DWP site HERE shows it was last amended in October 2012. Also, the kitty jones link you provided does not work ?
