ESA rules was created by jonybegud
Hi, I was on incapacity for several years. Last year I was tested and put into the Support group on appeal (thanks to the excellent advice gained from the B&W website). I have been expecting to here from DWP since the end of August (I was given ESA till Aug 26 2013). Any idea why they have not contacted me? Could it be because I would be retired now if I were a woman (DOB 25/12/1951)? Or is it just a backlog building up? Thanks in advance for any help.

It will not be because of your age, there is nothing in the legislation that takes account of this in terms of re-assessments, it is possible for the DWP to make a new Decision without the issuing of a new ESA50, if they feel they already have enough information to this, but this would be very, very unusual and you would still receive notice of this happening.
I am afraid the only thing you can do is to contact them for an update.

You are probably aware that the reassessment date is only advisory, it is very likely that it has been 'ignored' because DWP are very behind with everything at the moment.
You could use this time to gather the evidence you will need and even start filling in the PDF version of the form if you wish.
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Hi J,
As Gordon states if you are concerned, you could contact The WCA Team at the Benefits Office that deals with your ESA.
However, I am personally aware of several people who have not yet received their ESA50, and the end of the recommended prognosis period has passed.
It is only a decision that you can make.
