When there is genuine cause for complaint

How much does a claimant learn about an HCP when attending an ATOS centre? Does a claimant learn the HCP’s name and professional background or does one have to ask. I query this because all these people must belong to a professional body (the BMA, the Royal College of Nursing, etc).
When there is a genuine and serious cause for complaint it makes sense to cc the letter to ATOS with a covering letter to the professional body of which the HCP is a member.

You should be told the HCP's name at the assessment, it will certainly appear on any medical report that they produce.
You can ask about their qualifications but they are unlikely to answer beyond the fact that they have successfully completed the required training in disability assessment.
My understanding is that a complaint to ATOS will not be reviewed by the HCP's governing body, even if they are copied in, only an official complaint made to them will result in action.

So one has to ask whether the HCP is a nurse or a physiotherapist to determine which professional body he/she has membership and any written complaint to that body must be separate from that submitted to ATOS. Got it?

You may or may not be aware that ATOS had a representive answering queries on the MSE site. (This has now fizzled out)
There were queries regarding whether an HCP (Doctor/Nurse, etc) should provide their governing body registration details on request.
This was an initial response from the ATOS Rep :
"“Thank you for your email. I can confirm that all health care professional doctors will provide their GMC number on request. However if you are assessed by a Nurse, they are not obliged to provide their registration number, this is in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council guidelines. However you can request a Nurse's registration details via Customer Relations once the assessment has been completed.”
Which then changed to this response in a later related query :
“I have been asked previously whether health care professionals give out the numbers associated with their registration with the relevant governing body. The question highlighted some inconsistency in the advice given and approaches taken. We have now clarified the latest advice given to HCPs from each of the relevant governing bodies. The current advice is that when HCPs are asked at an assessment for their registration number they should provide it."

That is absolutely fascinating information that many claimants will find helpful. Thanks!
