We have received the following request from a member who supports claimants with ME who are making claims for ESA. Our member is keen to hear from others working with claimants with fluctuating conditions. If you would like to contact our member, please send us an email.

“I am a benefits volunteer in an M.E. group, and for years have been helping members complete IB50s.

“I had a very good success rate with IB, but the new ESA50s, currently spreading through our group like a pestilence, are an entirely different matter. I feel extremely responsible as so much is at stake. I am often more or less housebound through illness and I would greatly appreciate email contact with other people who are also trying to help ESA claimants.

“On the whole, I do not need advice on the regulations or the law (which I either know or can look up) but would like to exchange information and opinions on tactics for completing forms and dealing with medical assessments. Contact with people helping claimants with fluctuating conditions would be particularly welcome. Many of our members have cognitive or mental health issues along with their physical problems, so contact with anyone dealing with these would also be welcome.

“B & W have kindly offered to pass on responses to me and I look forward to hearing from you.”
