When sending a copy of an ESA 50 to the DM is it wise or not for a claimant to mention this to ATOS?

I don't really think that it would matter, either way.

You could put in a covering letter with the DM copy, stating that you have provided this copy to ensure that The DM has access to the same medical information/evidence as ATOS.

Yes, the covering letter to The DM will have more relevance, as the DM would not be expecting The ESA50, etc.

The covering letter informing The DM that this is a copy of what has also be sent to ATOS will ensure that they do not think that you have sent it to them in error, rather than to ATOS.
