transferring from DLA to PIP lose out money wise!

Apparently if your on DLA when decision on PIP is made your paid 4weeks DLA from the PIP decision then have to wait another 4 weeks to get a payment of PIP. Also if your entitled to severe disability premium on top of your Income Related ESA Support Group money that is paid 4 weeks from PIP decision.
Yet if you claim PIP and arn't transferring over from DLA you get paid 4 weeks from the PIP decision.
Its really unfair and i would say discriminating.

I think you have misunderstood how it works.

PIP like DLA is paid 4 weekly in arrears so the 4 week gap between your last DLA payment and the first PIP payment is no different from what it would have been had you continued to receive DLA.
As far as I can see the situation is the same with any SDP payment.
If I have missed something then please reply to this post and we try and address your concern.

'Your Disability Living Allowance entitlement will end on the 17th June 2014.'
I've decided you're entitled to the Daily Living component of Independence Payment at the Standard rate of £54.45 a week from 18 june,2014 to.....
My ESA letter about severe disability premium says
' From the 14th june 2014 your Employment and Support Allowance will be £......'
I'm not going to get my first PIP payment until friday 1st August according to PIP. My DLA was normally paid on a Tuesday.

With respect to the rightsnet topic that you speak of, was it this one ? :
www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/6669/
Or the two links to other related topics within that thread ?
If so, they are discussing a scenario where a current DLA recipient has reported a deterioration in their condition (Change of Circumstances. C of C) and is then assessed for PIP.
They then receive a higher award of PIP than the DLA that they were previously in receipt of.
As the PIP decision takes so long, and as the higher PIP award is not backdated to the time of reporting the C of C, and is only paid 4 weeks after the date of the PIP Award decision, the claimant has lost money.
i.e. The difference between the original lower DLA award, and the new higher PIP award, for the interim period between the date of reporting of The C of C and 4 weeks after the date of the PIP award.

I think you will have to wait and see, but if your PIP claim start on 18 June then you should receive a PIP payment on or around 16 July, if you do not then you need to contact the PIP team.
If you ESA payments have changed then you need to contact the DWP about this, your PIP award entitles you to the Severe Disability Premium as your DLA did.
