Hi bro58. The person whose name appears on the DWP is a male, there's no mention of the woman who did the assessment.

Thanks

Hi TCP,

If the name of the person that you speak of is from The DWP, it is likely that they will be The DWP PIP Decision Maker (DM) (Case Manager) who made the decision.

You need the actual PIP Assessment Report that the Capita Assessor who carried out your PIP F2F would have compiled which would have then been forwarded to the DWP DM, who would have referred to that and any other evidence when making the decision.

You can request The Capita Assessors PIP Report from The DWP, as they will have it.

Hi TCP,

It sounds like you may be referring to The PIP Decision Notice which is sent to you as standard.

This includes The PIP DM's rational/reasons for coming to the decision.

You have to request The PIP Assessors Medical Report from The DWP.

You may find that the DM's rational and decision differs to The Capita Assessors recommendations.

Although in the majority of cases they do tend to agree with The Assessor's recommendation.

Bro,

In the two PIP assessment reports that I've seen (both written by different assessors working for Capita), the "type of professional" has been ambiguously listed as simply "Health Professional" - which isn't too helpful... as you can see here .

Maybe it's an "obfuscation" policy to deter claimants from complaining to the relevant body, if they can't find out which body the assessor belongs to...?

Hi J,

Thanks for that !

I haven't actually seen a PIP Medical Report yet.

I was expecting a name and "profession" as with the ESA85/ESA85A.

That being the case I would definitely advise that ATOS/Capita are contacted.

The claimant has a right to know, "Health Professional" is a very general/vague term.

Can any other members confirm the same ?

"Maybe it's an "obfuscation" policy"

You've been reading Gordon's posts too much J !!!

However, I agree !!

Hi all

I checked my P.I.P PA 4 V3 consultation report form the official heading on the assessment done at face to face (mine done by capita) and it just gives name and states health professional with no extra information to state what they are trained/qualified? in.
Hope that helps
