ESA renewed no ESA50 no WCA

Today my partner noticed that there were only 3 weeks left before my ESA assessment was due.

She rang the DWP to query why there wasn't a form sent yet and was told my assessment was due in May 2017.

My last WCA was 18 months ago and I was placed in the WRAG, which is where I feel I should be, and we were informed that was still the case.

We're still both baffled by this, but the call centre worker (who was actually rather helpful and patient) said it was most likely that my assessment had been pushed back 2 years because of a backlog.

Could this situation have arisen because of the mess left by Atos, or just because my condition has hardly changed in the 5 years I've been in the WRAG so they've just decided not to bother with me?

Good News st !!

Your ESA has not been "renewed", an ESA award is actually an indefinite award subject to periodic re-assessments.

It is more that your recommended re-assessment date (prognosis) has been deferred.

Since January 2014 ESA reassessments have been getting deferred for 2 years due to the huge backlog !!

Interesting that this is cropping up more and more bro 58. My prognosis was a 2 year one due in June this year but on phoning I was told its been put back to June 2017. I posted re this a week or so ago, however, there are still members posting saying that theyve received the summons for f2f. Not all of these seem to be claimants who were already in the pjpeline just around the jan 2014 cut off date.Many are however and are being called for f2f on gasis of old esa issued circa jan 2014 or before. However, clearly some members posting on here seem to be coming up for normal review and most seem to be members with mental health conditions as opposed to physichal ones. Any thoughts?

Best advice, unless you have telephoned and checked when to expect your ESA reassessment, be prepared to receive an ESA50 on the original recommended date.

In my case bro I have (teldphoned) and seemingly been deferred until 2017. However, just from reading posts on here re this issue I am noticing a trend of some re assesments going ahead on time or not and they seem to be claimants with mental health issues. I am referring of course to the last review done my Prof. Harringtons succesor where he lpined that claimants deemed to possibly be a risk to themselves or others cannot, in his view, possibly be assesed on paperwork alone. They require a f2f. Only my opinion but I think I can glean from posts on here that Maximus are perhaps cherry picking these types of cases.
