My daughter in law phoned DLA who actually apologised for not sending them out sooner , but said they are sending out PIP forms as DLA is being phased out. But they have stopped his payments and he now has to start off all over again ...don't suppose they would care that he has had three seizures since this ...!! and that is quite a lot of money to lose every month with two small children ...ado they even card ???? Of course not .....no wonder sone folk just can't deal with the hassle ...

They can accept this Decision or attempt to challenge it, but they will only be able to do so by showing that the DWP failed to send any DLA renewal forms, to do this they would have to ask the DWP to provide proof of what they sent, when and to whom, this would be best done in the form of a Subject Access Request.

Unfortunately, whatever happens with the DLA forms they will need to complete the PIP forms or risk further delay and no entitlement to payment, they should have a look at the PIP Claim guide

PIP forms have arrived today and need to be sent back by 10 September ...my daughter in law and son will come over here so we can read up on the help literature here on my laptop and guess it is just a case of crossing fingers .... is it better to send them back via proof of posting or what ....considering they failed to send his renewal forms out and have now stopped his money, if this goes through OK will they make up any lost weeks money ?
It is so disheartening to keep getting these every couple of years even though he is in the support group etc ....this all has an impact on his seizures ... my DIL will be actually writing the replies as she is very neat, and say she is going to point out the affect on seizures with all this

If an award of PIP is made then it should be backdated to the day after the DLA was stopped on the basis that this was when the DWP started the new claim.
If you/they have questions about the PIP criteria then please post on the forum, PIP is very different from DLA!

Further to my last post today, he is still on ESA in the support group ... but his wife has lost the carers for him along with the ending of the DLA ..they have admitted they didn't send him the renewal forms for his current DLA .
How does PIP criteria differ from DLA ??
