Quite sure were not alone on this issue, Problem wife has is that she lost her mobility both parts and bounced down to standard rate for daily living BUT the points are on the fence so to speak at 8 points. Looking at how other people have been treated by the assessors in both questioning and then ignoring your answers! my Wife is now very reluctant to proceed with the MR as she could just as easily loose that one point when they would asses the whole pip claim and not the contested sections which is unfair and for her caused her a lot of added stress and distress.
Has anyone gone to MR and actually lost points and therefor the whole claim?
The worst thing to come out of this is that we have lost the blue badge which was a god send given her mobility problems.

We would advise everyone to appeal if they think they wre harshly or unfairly treated in the PIP Assessment/Decision Making process.

You only have one month to do this so time is of the essence. You could lose what you have but there would have to be good reason for this and you can go to a proper appeal if you lose the MR which it is probably best to assume as it is the DWP !!! However people do get decisions reversed at MR.

Perhaps you could get some support from a relevant charity. Many charities are helping people fight PIP and ESA decisions. You can also use our guide under the heading ; PIP Appeals on : This Page

Please do not hesitiate to come back here for further assistance if required.

Good luck.

Thanks for some words of encouragement regards our situation.
Our problem is so large that we have to think about our next step. Last time this happened we did end up to tribunal( AGAIN and almost bankrupt!) which did prove in our favour BUT that took 16 months! The emotional stress and fall outs that it caused are immeasurable! ..perhaps that is what this government wants to dissuade people from disagreeing from their decision makers report!
We did try our CAB ..but because we live on the country boundry, neither wanted to accept us as we lived..................... Well at the other side of theirs, also living in a village, getting to either of them would involve travelling which she was not able to do!
Other charities? please enlighten us, Any help at this stage is crucial but as mentioned, she has the standard rate which unless we have some sort of guarantee of preserving that whilst we go to appeal she is very reluctant for me to proceed :-(

Try an internet search for charities related to you wife's conditions.

I'm afraid no one can offer a guarantee with regard an MR or appeal.

The regulations allow the blue badge to be kept until it is next due for renewal. At that stage the badge can be applied for and each application will be assessed on its own merits. So losing the mobility portion of PIP does not automatically mean losing the blue badge.
