ESA50 DOWN LOAD ? was created by Dollydee
Hi Guys

 I am having trouble downloading the ESA50 form to be completed online then print off. I have tried to update adobe reader to xi version but all i get is adobe acrobat reader DC. Should this allow me to fill in the form and save to print off later ?
Also does the esa50 need to be completed in capital letters as it says on the front page ?

I am so dreading it all this time. I have only a week left and still not sorted the pdf

thanks Dollydee

Hi Dd

There is a download link in this FAQ :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

I believe that Adobe Reader DC, is the latest version, I have that on my P.C. with Widows 7 OS and I can download and save The PDF ESA50 fine.

Get Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

You must download and Save The PDF ESA50 to your P.C. before you can start filling it in.

The advice regarding Block Capitals is only if you are going to download it, save it, then print it off blank and fill it in with a pen by hand.

Extract from the front page of The PDF ESA50 :

"If you are having technical difficulties:

•downloading the form •navigating around the form, or •printing the form

Hope that helps ! :)

Concerning capitals - writing in capitals is crippling (these forms are always problematical but this is just putting an extra layer of stress and pain on top). Do you think they've even considered this problem for people this affects badly?

Also, could someone just confirm that copying from my previous two year old form is OK? I've been on benefits for years and nothing really changes in my condition so trying to rewrite pages of extra notes is going to be a nightmare without trying to reword it all as well. Is this OK? Should I say 'my condition hasn't really changed so this is still relevant'? I don't want anyone interpreting my failure to tackle this 'afresh' as proof I'm a fraud, but there are only so many ways to say the same things.

Lastly, the form I have is entitled Capability for Work QNaire. The previous one was LIMITED Capability for Work Qnaire. Is this just a new name? I was moving from SDA to ESA last time - is that relevant?

I got into the support group eventually on a mandatory reconsideration - do you know if they read that report this time? I would include it since most of it is positive, but it notes the failure to call me for a medical and since my health issues are M.E. and other 'invisible' conditions, I doubt seriously that a face-to-face would work in my favour. Any comments welcome!

Hi T,

"Concerning capitals - writing in capitals is crippling (these forms are always problematical but this is just putting an extra layer of stress and pain on top). Do you think they've even considered this problem for people this affects badly?"

As I advised above, writing in capitals is only relevant if you were going to print off a blank PDF ESA 50 and fill it in by hand or if you were filling in the hard copy version of The ESA50 that you receive through the post.

I don't know whether they have considered the problems that this may cause or not, but if you have problems doing so, you should let them know in The ESA50.

"Lastly, the form I have is entitled Capability for Work QNaire. The previous one was LIMITED Capability for Work Qnaire. Is this just a new name? I was moving from SDA to ESA last time - is that relevant?"

Yes, it is now called the "Capability for Work Questionnaire." and No, it has no relevance to the fact that you mention.

You should find the answers to all your other queries in : This Post which I wrote just an hour ago.

Sorry - I should also have asked whether any of you know if it's OK to write the extra sheets of information without capitals? Will they read it? It was evident that the assessor didn't read anything last time (my handwriting was legible).

I shall probably use voice recognition this time for the extra sheets but it would probably be useful
to know this anyway, in case it's not working. Also for other people who don't have access to typing. Thanks

Hi T,

Anything that is handwritten should be done in capitals !

The neater and more easier to read that you make it, the more chance you have of it being read and taken into account.
