PIP Assessment tomorrow

My OT arrived in plenty of time for the 11 am appointment with Capita. 11:30 comes and there's no sign. OT had very kindly postponed an appointment to be here with me and had others to go to, so telephoned Capita only to be told my appointment was cancelled!

They were very defensive with him. Not willing to give details who was supposed to come out and talked over him.

Luckily our answering machine (truecall) logs all calls and uploads records to truecall's server. A call was made by what I assume was Capita (withheld number!) an hour before due appointment, but no message was left. OT tested machine whilst he was here and it worked fine. Even if the truecall was busy we have Sky's 1571 so they could've left a message there. Just looks like you get one phonecall from them and that's it. I've checked the logs and there were no other calls from an unknown number.

I have had another appointment made for 15th, and I'm already dreading it. I don't know why this one was cancelled either as of yet.

It's a mess and bloody stressful too.

This is awful, but not that unusual for Capita I'm afraid, and what a waste of your OT's time and resources !! :( :angry:

OT is making a complaint by letter and phone on both our behalf. He is really good to do this and I'm lucky there.

The whole thing is a mess. Mental health care in general (except OT!) is terrible here and I know it's not just me to have problems with them.

I had thought about contacting MP, but just feel ground down and questioning is it worth fighting in general. It's dragged on for years and this with Capita hasn't helped.

I just hope some good comes from the carers assessment for my parents. I definitely need an advocate to liase with such people as my GP and other mental health team members and there was nooooo way I could have done what the OT did with regards to phoning Capita.

I shall keep you all posted, as hopefully it may help others too.
