I have just received this from dated 5th of January 2016 and my award letter says I will be in receipt of my ward until 5th of January 2017?
I phoned and was told it was normal practice to do this one year early and it was just to get the ball rolling so to speak. Is it really common practice to do this and can my award be stopped if the form is not to the likings of the DWP?
I'm getting really stressed about this. I've posted the form which it says has to be received by the 5th of February and am just hoping for the best.
Can someone please advise me to stop worrying?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi p,
Yes, it is the norm to receive your PIP Renewal Forms 12 months before your current awards end date.
As reiterated in : This Topic
You should have treated the Renewal as if it was your first assessment !
As a result of the Renewal, your current PIP Awards can stay the same, increase, decrease or be taken away altogether.
Any awards made as a result of the the Renewal will take effect from the date of the decision, rather than the date that your existing award ends.
There is nothing much that you can do, as PIP Legislation dictates that your PIP Awards can be Reviewed at any time for any reason.
Good luck !!

At least I went to my local CAB who filled out the form for me using a copy of my previous form as a guideline. It has now been re phrased and one or two other relevant pieces of information have been added.
Fingers crossed all will be OK.

Hi p,
If they carry on like this, dealing with new PIP claims, reviewing existing awards early, whilst also trying to deal with the massive task of transferring all existing DLA recipients who were below 65 on 08/04/13 over to PIP, it is only a matter of time before the PIP Assessment System and The Tribunal PIP Appeals System gets jammed up once more !!!
Just what happened with ESA !!!
Will they never learn ???? !!!!!!!

Yes I'm totally with you there.
I'm so glad I renewed my membership with this site. I've just won my ESA tribunal and been put in the support group ( a copy of the tribunal decision has been posted with my PIP renewal form).
God knows how much money it cost the DWP in real terms with all the admin and tribunal costs.
The evidence was there in front of them and they chose to be obstinate and it finished up costing them loads more - and on top of that a year's worth of back pay which thankfully I have now received.
I just hope this new PIP obstacle isn't going to drag on for this length of time but at least I'm now prepared for it.
Not good on the nerves, though, is it?

Anyway, the assessment took just over one-and- a- half hours but I'm not sure if I can read anything by this. My initial assessment in January 2015 took about 30 minutes.
Any comments on this would be much appreciated.
I must admit that once I'd got out of the room and into a taxi to take me home, it was like a massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders.
Just hoping the result is a favourable one so will keep you posted
Incidentally, I've been reading all the helpful comments and the appropriate guides in the weeks and days leading up to today so I just hope I've got my case across sufficiently.
Fingers crossed!
