Your advice is very much appreciated Gordon.

I will re-read through the ESA Claim guide on Mental Health issues. I have to read it in small sections as my ability to concentrate fully is affected at times. Can I ask if REG 29 Exceptional Circumstances would be more appropriate for me to refer to rather than REG 35 given the nature of my illnesses? In that there would be no appropriate adjustment that could be made to a workplace if found fit for work as I am agoraphobic and unable to travel anywhere without being accompanied and secondly I am already taking prescribed medication for my condition?

There's nothing stopping you asking for both Regs. 29 and 35 to be considered, they are not mutually exclusive, just be aware that a reasonable adjustment for Reg, 29 could be your working from home!

Could I please have some advice on the posting of ESA50?

Return date states Tuesday 3/5/16 - 2/5 being a Bank Holiday. I plan to send my form by Special Delivery so what is the latest date you would recommend for doing so?

Kind regards

It depends on what you can afford, the Royal Mail deliver on a Saturday so the latest date for this would be 30 April, if you use next day delivery then you can post on the Friday although you should check the cut off time, if you go with Recorded then you will need to check the lead time for guaranteed delivery.

Thank you Gordon.

I plan on sending by Special Delivery which guarantees next day delivery (most expensive option but think it is worthwhile for peace of mind) and on posting this on Thursday which guarantees delivery on the Friday. Has anyone experienced any problems with sending in their ESA50 so near to the deadline?

Posted my ESA50 on Wednesday 27/4/16 by special delivery and have printed proof of signing the next day Thursday 28/4/16 so satisfied that I have returned my form by deadline of Tuesday 3/5/16 but anxious that the reminder letter I received had a Leeds address and ESA50 returned with original address for mail handling site in Wolverhampton. Can you please confirm that returning the form to the handling site address is always the correct postal option?

I normally also receive an annual letter confirming my ESA benefit rates every January and need this in order to have my NHS Eyesight test however, I have not received one this year. Do the DWP put a hold on these letters if you are anywhere near a re-assessment date? My award was given and not due to expire until 2/6/16?

Kind regards
