Providing you meet all of the deadlines involved in the PIP process then your DLA should remain in payment until four weeks after a Decision is made on your PIP claim.

PIP has been constructed to be a significantly more difficult benefit to be awarded than DLA, so even if your conditions have deteriorated it is possible that you could receive the same award as you do now, or even worse.

Before you make a decision I would recommend that you have a look at our PIP Claim guide to make sure you understand the criteria against which you will be assessed and the likelihood of an award.
