I'm glad you have someone who will support you through the visit!
You should be aware that the assessor might turn up on time, early, late - or not at all!
It is up to you to decide which room the assessment takes place in. The assessor does not have the right to look elsewhere in your home (we have not heard of them asking to do so), although you might have aids or appliances that you want them to see.
It is unlikely that there will be any 'medical' in the recognised sense of the word.
The assessment will be very similar to any other, even though this is being carried out in your home. You might be asked questions relating to the form you completed but there will also be other questions entirely unrelated. Our PIP guide explains what to expect

I was just wondering if anyone else have had any experience of going through a medical and have pets taken into account? I have had my cat for 3 years so its before i was diagnosed with breast cancer.

They may make some assumptions so you should be prepared to answer any questions about how you mange, even to provide the information whether you are asked or not.
