I received quite a lot of backpay in 2015 for PIP and severe disability premium. I am in ESA support group now… Since 2017. Please can you confirm that backpay is not counted as capital? Thank you.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
Back payments are usually only disregarded for 12 months unless they are the result of an official Error by the DWP, once the disregard lapses they are treated as capital.
