Hi Gordon,
My DLA is due in 2 weeks time. I was wondering if it would still be paid while I waited on a decision on my PIP claim. Also how long do you think it will take. I am in N. Ireland. I have heard nothing since sending back the form and do not want to contact them.
Thank you for any advice.
Jessica

Your DLA will remain in payment until four weeks after a Decision on your PIP claim is made.
Have you had or been notified about an assessment yet, if not contact Capita for an update.

We are quoting ten weeks for a PIP Decision but I don't have figures for NI.

Hi Gordon,
I have not been notified about an assessment. I had put on my form that I requested a paper based assessment and had a G.P letter requesting one. What are the chances of this Gordon?
I was going to leave things for another while to see if I hear from them. I don't want to rock the boat.
Is it Capita or the DWP that has the power to agree to a Paper Based Assessment?
Thank you
Jessica

Paper Based Reviews are done in probably no more than 5% of claims and only where there is sufficient information for a report to be produced for the DWP, did you GP offer to provide any additional information that they might require.
The decision to do a PBR or not lies with Capita.

Hi Gordon,
No my G.P did not say to contact him if further evidence is needed which is a shame as he is very supportive and I think he would help if further evidence was needed.
If I wait to see what Capita comes back with could I then push Capita further for a Paper Based Assessment? This is my first time getting PIP so they may want to see me.
Thank you,
Jessica

It's a misnomer that you can request a PBR, they will only do one if they can, they are less likely to do one for a transfer from DLA to PIP as the criteria for the two benefits is very different and even where there are similarities, PIP is much stricter.
