Hi all This is my first post .My wife has got her first assesment.She has been on pip for a while .She suffers from eupd and reacurring depretion anxiety also. She had a phone call from them to say she had to come in just after xmas..This spoilt our Xmas due to causing extra stress. The reason I am posting is I have read through the guides on what to expect but I am still very worried .Can you give me any advice this will be much appreciated.
I'm not sure what to add to what you have already read. The assessor will be directing their questions at your wife, some will allow comment from a companion, others won't.
They will spend a lot of time typing on their computer, so it can be worth waiting until she has their attention again.
They like closed answers like "yes" and "no". If she has problems with an activity then she should think about answering in the opposite way to normal, so rather than saying "yes, I can do this but only when..." she should try "no, I can only do it when..."
Assessments can be anything from 40 minutes to about 80.
