Greta

Many congratulations on your SIL's award.

The Decision Letter will not explain the award but you can request a copy of the assessment report, it will be an ESA85 if they had a face to face and an ESA85A, it won't cover the MR but should give you some idea. Contact the DWP office dealing with the claim, the information will be on the Decision Letter.

Hi
We have now received a copy of the assessment report with points awarded. This was requested by Job Coach who was well up to speed with what had happened and was v. helpful. Now 9 points for Learning tasks, still 6 points for Getting about. Thankful to get the 15 points but disappointed that still 0 points for Coping with change, though don't think it worth challenging as will be reviewed again in 2 years.
The report was quite detailed and it was clear that telephone records evidence and detailing step by step the support received on day of Health assessment was what had changed the decision so will make sure that we use that for future assessments.

One thing that we are still having to deal with and had not considered when ESA was stopped was the effect on NHS charges for Dental treatment and prescriptions. SiL was still claiming as in receipt of benefits, not understanding implications and reception staff who know her just assuming there was no change. Hence she has received bills for treatment and penalty charges for fraudulent claims. Thankfully we have managed to sort this but each treatment is dealt with as separate invoice number not linked by NHS number; so far we have had to deal with 3 bills and possibly more to come :(

Hi GretaM

Yes the report is very handy for future references. When ESA stops it does have an impact on NHS costs unless you are exempt, which most people are not aware of and are shocked when they get a penalty charges for fraudulent claims.

Congratulations on your success
