Letter RE PIP decision. was created by jpg2502
Sorry for starting a whole new thread on something relatively small but I can't find my previous threads!

I received a letter today which was dated 18th April saying the DWP have 'all the information they need to make a decision on your PIP', and that was it. so a complete waste of paper.
What I don't understand is that on the 8th i had already received a text saying they had received my report from atos and would be in touch soon with a decision, the text said up to 6 weeks. So why have I got a letter dated 10 days later saying almost the same?!
Also how long after receiving such letter will I be waiting till I finally get the decision?

The DWP has to notify the claimant in writing, not everybody has a mobile or has given the number to the DWP, unfortunately, letters often take 7-10 days to arrive.

I don't have a current view of PIP Decision times but a month ago we were quoting 10 weeks.

I got exactly the same letter in the post today. I was told at my assessment it would take 6 weeks for a decision to be made and receive notification of award or not.

I havent heard anything more yet but was at my Doctors today and she said she had not been contacted regarding PIP.
Is this normal? I presumed they always contacted your doctor to gather 'evidence'. And also presumed thats why it takes so long!

It's actually unusual for the GP to be contacted.

It's me again, just a quick question.
The assessor seemed interested in my OCD. (Probably the least of my issues, or so I thought) . They were asking about showering / bathing and returning to shower / bath several.times in a day as well as obsessiveness about appearance.
I presumed i was going to score 0 for the washing part of the assessment as I can do so on my own without prompting. However, someone has told me you get points for overwashing/ocd. any idea if this is true?!
Thanks
