Hi zaib

If you have capital of more than £10,000, you will be counted as having an extra £1 a week income for every £500 or part of £500 over this limit. In pension credit this is called 'deemed income', while other benefits the tern is 'tarrif income'.

I was trying to find more about matter of SDP addition to PC in a situation og joint tenancy .
I found the following but it is about ESA
Chapter 44
44001 This Chapter explains how to calculate the normal amount payable for ESA
People who are not non-dependants
44139 People who normally reside with the claimant and are not non-dependants1 are
1. any person aged under 18
2.

7. a person or their partner who is not a close relative, except where 8. Applies who jointly occupies the claimant’s dwelling and who is
7.1 a co-owner of the dwelling with the claimant or partner or
7.2 jointly liable with the claimant or partner to make payments to the same landlord for the occupation of the dwelling

8. a close relative who satisfies 7. And the
8.1 claimant or partners co-ownership or joint liability arose
8.1.a before 11.4.88

or Vol 8 Amendment 14 February 2014

8.1.b if later, on or before the date on which the claimant or partner first occupied the dwelling3 or
9.
My question is if thisapplies to PC as well? ,
"co-ownership or joint liability arose
8.1.a before 11.4.88 8.1.b if later, on or before the date on which the claimant or partner first occupied the dwelling3 or 9. "

What is11.4.88 ? is it year 1988 ?

Are there any other rules (when living with others) for PC - SDP .
Please help

Hi zaib

You cannot qualify for the SDP if you have a partner who is not also getting a qualifying benefit or certified as severely impared or blind. Nor can you qualify if you have anyone living with you who is classed as a 'non-dependant' , eg an adult son or daughter, friend or relative.

There is quite a long list of those not classed as non-dependants and their presence in your home is ignored such as anyone under 18

www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2002/1792/made .... look at schedule 1 part 1 if you want to see the full regs.
