Another Damn ESA 50 Form to fill in .......

Hello Again Folks.....

Not posted in here for a while as things have been running smoothly, BUT, as usual the arrival of another ESA 50 ( 05/18 ) today, has thrown my Wife into a state of Panic, as this is the THIRD one in 5 Years, and she knows what is going to happen next, and will probably end up with another scary / humiliating / frightening / horrible Face to Face assesment for her again.....

So, as she has been in the Support Group for about 4 Years ( after 2 Mandatory Reconsiderations ) on her other 2 ESA Claims, and her overall circumstances have hardly changed since the last one about 18 Months ago....Can someone tell me if there is an easy way to fill in this ESA Form ( Such as writing NO Change to all questions ) in order to make sure she goes straight back into the " Support Group " or have I got to send in all of the Documents that I sent last time ( About 50 Pages ) which is going to take ages to complete, and I might not be able to get it completed in time for the deadline set......

Any help and and advice would be welcome......

Thank You.....

Mr. Roy

Although you can just write on the form - 'No change' you would be unwise to do so without giving an explanation. If you have a look at the ESA guide, it suggests that you at least explain what it is that has not changed.

You do not have to send in all the documents again, but it always helps to have some up-o-date information confirming that her situation has not changed, such as a letter from a GP. If you have nothing new, I would at least send copies of the most relevant information you have.

Thank You for quick reply BIS......

As you have suggested, I shall not be writing " No Change " in my wording on the latest ESA 50 Form I have recieved. However, I have been reading through the last one I sent back, and the answers we have supplied are still very accurate to my Wife's current medical conditions. So do you think it is a good idea to use the EXACT wording on the new claim form, as it will same me a LOT of time and work if that is acceptable to the DWP........

Thank You

Mr Roy

That should be fine just be aware that there were changes to Managing Treatments activity specifically in regard to medication in 2017 and although the original definitions for the Going Out activity were restored following their change, the guidance for mental health issues has been amended slightly. Both are covered in the current PIP Claim guide.

Hello Again Folks.....

First of all I have to say a massive Thank You to Gordon and B.I.S. for pointing me in the right direction to filling in another damn ESA 50 Form, as I have used the Members Only Guide to filling in this nightmare Questionnaire , and it has been VERY helpul indeed, I have learned a LOT using it. Especially the P.I.P. alerts that are included on what questions to be VERY careful with our answers, actually made me get out my Wife's P.I.P. Claim and look at it all again, before answering ANY of those, and I had to very thorough in my replies, which I think I have been, and am now coming to just about the end of filling it in, after almost 4 Days.....However, just one important question from me today Folks, and that is:::

Is it a good idea or not to submit a Copy of my Wife's P.I.P Award Letter from the Tribunal, which clearly shows the amount of points awarded, for many of the Activities, and also explains how severely limited her Mobility and General Heath was at the time, and is slighty worse nowadays. Once I know the answer, I can send off the ESA 50 form, and almost 30 pages of medical evidence with it......

Any advice you be very welcome....

Thank You....

Mr Roy

There's no problem with you including the report but you do need to explain the relevance of it to her ESA claim, even where there are areas of overlap the criteria are still different, you can't rely on those assessing her making the link between the two benefits.
