Luckily for me, the backpay is now in my Bank. Phew! AND they have extended the length from 3 years to 10 years!!! The process nearly killed me, but I'm glad I kept fighting.
Apparently, it's very rare for DWP to appeal against the tribunal.
Thank you Benefits and Work for all you help. :)

Gary wrote: It would not go on and on, when you first go for an appeal it is with 'First Tier Tribunal' you can then appeal to the 'Upper Tier Tribunal' and then to 'Court of Appeal' .... have a look at B&W latest news letter www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/4131-27-november-2019-update

Thanks, Gary. I haven't been receiving the newsletters for some time now, so had missed this.

BTW, did something go wrong with my post? I started a completely different thread entitled Post-PIP tribunal options (or at least I think that was the title), but now this thread seems to have had my reply to it added and its title changed, but no sign of my original query, unless it's somewhere else I haven't spotted yet.

This is the only topic I can see.

It is very unusual for a UTT Judge to make an "award" Decision, the most likely outcome of an appeal to the UTT is for a new First Tier Tribunal to be held with instructions on how to avoid the Error of Law made by the previous one.

Hi Mosala,
Congratulations! The extension to the ten years is amazing. I am on the point of giving up, but you have gone from a really poor initial Award Decision to an excellent one.
I know you had CAB help with the Appeal, they don't help with Appeals here, plus I cannot go there anyway! I am not sure I could handle an Appeal with no help, I cannot even have people coming to my home to help (OCD reasons). I can only try somewhere for telephone help, other than pestering poor Gordon. I am not sure I can even cope with touching loads of Appeal paperwork/forms (OCD reasons), let alone cope with knowing what to write, how to fill them in.
Are they tough, could you have done it without the CAB?
(I am still worried about the lack of 'verbal nods' and my emails etc in my medical records showing at an Appeal).
I have come out with shingles which I think is all the DWP stress, and in so much pain and don't know whether fighting for a better Award will really damage my health all round.
But you have persevered and it is inspiring, well done x

Hi Cruela, my name’s Roger Barlow, I’m 64 and an M E sufferer, I’m very new to computers, an my I pad doesn’t work with Benefits and Works website, had to get young Emma to use her husband’s windows PC to download the guides, I’ve never used a forum before, so no idea if you’ll get this or not.
I give Benefits advice to members of the Northallerton M E support group ( I learned a massive amount about ESA & PIP from a previous welfare rights adviser at Action for M E.
I don’t know how far you’ve got with a PIP appeal, doesn’t sound like you’ve done anything yet.
