Hello, I'm new here so hope I'm doing this correctly!

The situation is...
Employee signed off sick long term, SSP has ended but employment continues, unsure of how long, currently been off sick since October 2018. Enquirer has partner on a 'good income'. Can enquirer claim ESA and will it be contribution based?

They can make a claim for New Style ESA not ESA if they have a minimum of 50 weeks NI Contributions in the both of the Tax Years 2016-17 and 2017-18, the Tax Years will move forward a year on Monday 6 January 2020.
