So unfortunately my partner and I will be calling time on our relationship after Christmas and I will be going into the new year single. Presently we are on a joint income related ESA claim with me as the main claimant. Does anyone know how my benefits will change? Im in the support group and recieve the disability income guarantee as well. He is my care, which will obviously change. I am still of working age and worried I will have to change to Universal credit. Any help or advice appreciated. Merry Christmas to all.

Hi Jackie50

There is not enough information in your post to give you any advice such as do you receive PIP or DLA, if you do which components do you receive, will you be living on your own, you need this information before we can say if you will need to claim UC or not?

You can put your information into one of the online benefit calculators.

www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

I usually use Turn2us, if you are not very good with computers you can contact their helpline 0808 802 2000 and they will do the calculations over the phone. You do need to have all your benefit details to hand including council tax.
