Overfillling pips form

Overfillling pips form was created by MiriamC
Hi,
I sent my drafted answers to pips 2 form to fight4justice for their opinion.

They said that the assessor only has 15 minutes to read the form and so overfilling the form could mean that it doesn't get fully read.

They highlighted parts to remove, however this still leaves a lot more than 15 minutes reading material.

They also told me that I needed to make sure I put all the writing on the form and not to put on paper- which is what I was going to do. Writing name, n.i. number and page X of X.
They told me pages get frequently lost.

So now I am at a loss with how to proceed.
My writing to answers even condensed will not fit on the form and is takes longer than 15 minutes to read.
Please help?!

Thanks Miriam

Hi MiriamC

A lot of people send in evidence that takes more than 15 minutes to read and still have a successful outcome. I am sure all assessors skim read - they would need to, but they are still supposed to read all that is sent in.

There are also a lot of people who put in additional pages and it is clear in the official instructions from the DWP that this is quite acceptable. Many people are unable to write and have someone type up their pages.

I do not want to criticise anyone who is trying to help you, but if you think a point you are making is relevant and fits the PIP criteria - and you want to include it - you should do so.

I have known someone to get enhanced PIP with only one professional letter, and 1 page of additional information and I have known someone to receive enhanced PIP with 300 pages of additional evidence. Both would argue that they did the right thing. You must do what works for you. Do not get caught up over the '15 minutes'

Thanks for this answer. It makes complete sense.

I have unfortunately filled in the forms , after receiving yet more advice from fight 4 juststie stressing to keep it on form.

I condensed down pages to just fit the boxes on the form . :/.
I am now stressing about how to repair this.

Can I also include what I was originally going to put? The additional pages with the repeated answers but much more detailed (including parts that had been crossed out under fightbacks advice)
I don't know if this would confuse my claim.

Aargg! I don't know how to repair this and came out in a cold sweat reading your answer as I realised I had condensed it so much would I have put my points across.also I had tried to cram in so much in the boxes and worried it's not even readable.

Aargg such a mess!

Hi MiriamC

I would not worry, what is done is done, I agree with what BIS has stated below.

The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip , you can use your original answers when compiling your MR.

Hi Gary,

Sorry for the confusion but I haven't actually sent the pip2 form off yet.

So I'm wondering if adding in the extra pages saying also see page X of X which I was originally going to do would be okay- considering that I have already filled in box with shortened version of the long version, that I now wished I had put instead but couldn't fit it.

So how do I rectify my mistake before I send it off? Add the original answers on extra paper even though there would be repetition due to the condensed answer being on the form?

Miriam

You could write "additional details on attached pages, see page X of attached" or something similar.
