Hi,

Just to confirm does your website, specifically this forum deal with queries of a housing benefit nature? This is regarding a prospective claim that I wish to make, which would not be made via Universal Credit (UC) as I am in receipt of the Severe Disability Premium. I understand that this means any claim I made would be through my local authority.

If you do not deal with enquiries of this nature, who might you recommend I speak to about this?

Hi Alex

You are correct, as you are in receipt of SDP then you would not be able to apply for UC unless you live in the Harrogate area, you can apply for HB.

This forum is not for HB queries, you would need to contact your local advice centre for specific HB queries. Shelter maybe able to give you advice, england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits
