Mr Roy

If your wife is receiving Income Related ESA then it is awarded on the basis of your household income (there are other criteria) this includes monies that you could receive but have chosen not to.

TBH Gordon.....

My biggest fear here, as I've mentioned earlier in this thread is::::::

If I put a claim in to recieve my State Pension, I will then have made a " Change in Circumstances " to my Wife's ESA ( I.R and Support Group ) award, which we had to battle VERY hard to get the right outcome, including the M.R, appeal and Tribunal appearances, which took well over a Year. Therefore, possibly sending us down the dreaded route of the sinkhole of " Universal Credit " ..So do you know if I start my claim for that State Pension. Would the U.C. new claim happen, or would my Wife' award just be decreased by whatever amount of Pension I would recieve, and stay as it is, for the next Five Years. Therefore keeping the exactly the same amount of money that we recieve ATM ........

Thank You....

Mr Roy

This is not a Change that will require a claim for Universal Credit.

Your wife's ESA will be decreased £ for £ by the pension.

Thank You Gordon....

Also everyone else who has posted comments on here recently, some very interesting posts indeed. I'm still not sure what to do though TBH.....

So, I am going to wait until after 30 of June before / when I can apply for my Pension, and see what happens in the meantime......

Thank You...

Be careful, if there is an overpayment then it will be recoverable.

It's the earliest I can apply for my State Pension ........

Doesn't mean I will get it though, and I have NO idea how much, so I doubt if an overpayment will occur, Gordon....

Well, I hope not.....

Cheers.....
