Hi gaye

There is a window for you to write to the Decision Maker before you get your decision letter, but you will need to be quick.

Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion if they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said. Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors. And although it might be tempting never say that the assessor is a liar.

So as adviced I requested a copy of the home assessment on 26 Feb, today a brown envelope arrived just saying that they had now got all the information they required and not to contact them, I would get a letter to say with the outcome!! I had expected the copy of the f2f assessment the letter I received today was dated the same day I rang them !! Do I just wait now ??

This is a standard letter sent to the claimant when the DWP receive back the assessment report.

Whether you contact the DWP in advance of the Decision being made is up to you, just because the letter says not to contact them does not mean that you cannot.

Hello Gaye

I had to telephone twice before a copy of my f2f, assessment report was sent to me. I still believe it’s an important document to have so you at least, have some idea what the DWP decision might be.

Regards
Sue
