Hi gary, the situation might have been clearer had i sought out my orignal thread on this. Then my question would have had the background info and been clearer.
The award came through about a month ago and my son has already had additional payments. I was very surprised he had been placed LCWRA as his work coach at the job centre was so friendly and had little projects lined up for him. We were looking forward to working with her.
Then, this decision came in and she dumped us! All appts cancelled. I was sure there must have been a mistake so i requested the medical report to see what it said.
As i mentioned in my first post on this thread, depressing reading. And states prognosis for improvement poor. I know uc can call in for re assessment as early as 3 months.
What i wanted to know is do you think, with my son's bleak medical report, they are more likely to leave him for the 3 years?
Also, i just found out it is permitted to do some paid work in this LCWRA group so maybe this is the right one for him after all.
I am ever hopeful we can get him into something - and he does do some voluntary work just now (supported)
It might be quite good if the job centre leaves him in peace to get ready for work at his own slow pace

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Anisty
No one can tell you what length of time the DWP will leave him, but I would be surprised if it was any shorter than three years, bearing in mind the comment about no likely improvement in functionality. Sometimes they leave it longer than three years. I know it isn't what you wanted, but you are right in saying he is not going to be pestered by the job centre and he can go at his own pace.
