Timeline after phone assessment was created by furrypusscat
Hello mods, I had my telephone assessment on the morning of 16th April and the HP said she would be dealing with it the same afternoon. I assume by that, that she would be completing the necessary information to send to DWP. I phoned DWP on Monday 20th April to ask for a copy of the HP's report once it was in their possession and followed this up confirming in writing. I have always received texts when DWP have received my transfer from DLA to PIP forms back and thought this may also be the case when the HP report had been received. Having heard nothing I rang again on Thursday 24th April and was told that they were still waiting for the report. How long should I allow before I ring them again. If the assessment had been a F2F how long would you expect before DWP would receive the HP's report. Is it possible that the delay is not caused by the HP but the backlog at DWP although they did confirm that they had received my letter. What do you suggest (a) ringing DWP again or (b) ringing Capita or (c) just wait. Thank you for any input/advice.

Hi Furry

I would ring DWP and ask what they are doing about the delay. The report is supposed to be there within 48 hours of an assessment (prior COVID19). If this has changed then they should be saying so. They should be chasing Capita.

Thank you BIS. My thought was to ring DWP again, I wasn't sure if I was being a bit impatient but I will ring them tomorrow. Thank you once again.

My report took over a week to get to the DWP. When I looked at it the Assessor had taken from Monday to Friday to write it. My assessment had been the first one on the Monday and the report was filed at 4.59 pm on the following Friday. I had to MR decision and used this time lag to highlight discrepancies between what had taken place and what she had written. I went from Standard Care to Enhanced Care and Standard Mobility. So check how long it took the Assessor to write it up.

The IAS informed me on 22.3.20 that they were waiting for my CPN to contact them to complete process. My CPN told me soon afterwards they hadn’t been contacted yet. IAS assessor told me my claim would be sent back to DWP. Just called DWP for an update and was told IAS still had my claim! Called them and they informed me that it was “pending” a call back! Asked for them to send me details of data processed so far and they said DWP hold that info and that they were the data handlers - asked them if IAS used DWP systems to process info, he stated that IAS had their own system to do that. Long story short - subject access request has been submitted to Capita PIP - let’s see what happens with this “pending” system (which IAS stated has no time scales!)

Thank you both for your input. I wasn't sure whether Capita sent report by post or electronically, but I assume by post otherwise DWP should have received it by now. I understand that DWP Wolverhampton is behind with their claims. I haven't had chance yet today to ring DWP but I will try this afternoon.
