Hi Gordon,

Thank you. I’m still deciding whether to MR but if I don’t I’ve decided I’ll write anyway and correct all of the inaccurate information as it’s littered throughout the assessors report and some of it is simply not true

I have read the guides and I’m working through the DWP assessors guide but I get confused how to interpret the descriptors or whether with my condition they fit

The assessors report refers to aids for washing and bathing and preparing food (2 points gained for each descriptor) but does not state what aids they think will assist- should it say the report what aids they feel can help me?

It’s very hard to dispute that an aid would not assist me in these tasks if I don’t know what aids they think have the potential to assist me - for example cooking they may be getting at a perching stool as it refers to conserving energy in her report but If this is what they are alluding to then they have failed to consider my dizziness and cognitive dysfunction leading to me using the wrong setting on appliances, being clumsy and dropping/spilling things and the fact that my fatigue levels mean I do not prepare meals full stop. They are all done by my Mum because I don’t have the energy in the first place let alone to use a stool to conserve it - I’m guessing 8 points would be impossible for me to gain but perhaps they should have given me 4- requires prompting/supervision to keep me safe?
Though even that addles my brain because I don’t need supervision because I can’t do the task anyway

If you don't want to do an MR then I would not bother sending your corrections for the report as they won't look at it and you risk it being treated as a request for an MR

As to the aids, there is a list of the aids that might be considered for each activity in the PIP Claim guide, I would start by stating that the assessor has not stated which aids they think you can use but these are the issues that you would have using a couple of the more obvious ones.

Thank you

Will think about the MR and look again at the guide for the aids
