Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Graham
Let us know how you get on, I would expect you to hear within 8 weeks, but it might be sooner.
The stats for MRs are not good and only about 17% are successful. The next stage is to go to appeal. That takes about a year but the success rate is currently 83-85% in favour of the claimants. You can read about appeals in the Guide to Appeals www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip .
Lets hope you are one of the 17%.

Don't get discouraged, Graham, the MR is just a delaying tactic by the DWP, tbh. But I hope you're one of the 17%, too! I just hope you have the energy to persist, because the DWP is a very fragile shell of an organisation, when it comes to outside (tribunal) scrutiny. Where things (%) are reversed in your favour. If you can, use this time to gather as much (more) medical evidence to support your case, from as many sources as you can.

Hi Graham, just want to say I am pleased to hear you have managed these two important steps. Hoping the colder weather is not aggravating all your severe aches and pains, best wishes,
Denby

I think I have some good news, I have a PIP payment of £694.18 going into my account on Friday, I haven’t heard back regarding my Mandatory Reconsideration but I can only assume / hope that I have made it onto the enhanced rate.
I will have to wait to see if it’s one or both, but I can’t thank everyone enough.
I have a social worker now who is helping, and lots of adaptions to house to make things easier.
Thank you again everyone.

I have tried to work it out and I first applied for PIP on 30th July 2020 so I think I have got the enhanced daily living allowance.
Sorry to ask advice again, should I now appeal? They didn’t have any of the information of enhancements made to the house, also the Social Worker is going to write a report saying that I qualified for the care part, but because of my anxiety and she said money wise would be better to book a cleaner etc privately.
The social worker who is lovely said about a Scooter or Car and is happy to push in the report and the person who arranged the banister and grips, bath board, perching chairs etc.
I don’t want to sound greedy and I am so grateful I just think without mobility I will never be able to leave my home again.

So sorry, just been looking and says that it is backdated to the date of the original decision which would be 20th November 2020 which means I might have got both.
I know I should just be patient, I just wish my head would let me.
So sorry and thank you again.
